  1. Uniforms aren't a major factor in learning, instead it takes away attention from more important things and wastes time in school then why can't our school understand that and make it a non-uniform school?

  2. Uniforms allow students to have a great morning routine giving the time to have time to eat and prepare for school without worrying about what students are going to wear.
Thought Provoking Question: What is your opinion on this statement and if you were the principal what would you do about uniforms?

    Daniel Pena

  3. Well - I strongly dislike uniforms because they stop you from expressing yourself. I LOVE to shop would be an understatement for me. Without uniforms, I wouldn't have an excuse to shop, for one thing - and everyone looks the same, and you can't have your own individual style. The way people dress reflects who they are a bit, and I wouldn't want that taken away from me. Plus, people always get me mixed up with others as it is. With uniforms, how will you tell your students apart? I'm still working on getting my teachers to remember my name. Uniforms do not help, unless I were to have my name plastered accross the front. (Ugly.) If I were to be expected to wear uniforms in High School, I'd fuss a little bit, but I wouldn't be able to change it, then. I'd probably become obssessed with shoes, or something. But I'd find positives in it. Parents would be happy because they wouldn't have to spend money, You wouldn't have to spend time picking the perfect outfit all the time, students wouldn't get bullied for not having Juicy Couture, or Hollister, or whatever. So there are plus sides and minus sides to both. Although I wouldn't want uniforms, I could see how it could be a good decision for the school.
Thought Provoking Question: If the positions were to be reversed and you were president of a school would you react with a positive or negative conclusion on school uniform policies?

  4. Many kids are against uniforms because it doesn't express who they are. There are many other places where someone can express themselves with their clothing so why does school have to be one of them?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Uniform benefits a parent so they don't have to worry about draining their wallet. But it also benefits kids because they know exactly what to wear at school and don't have to worry about what outfit to wear on Friday all the time.

Question: Who is benefited the most with uniform? The parent or the kid?

    ReplyDelete
  6. When a school doesn't have a uniform policy, some students spend much time buying their clothes for the year which takes their attention away from things they have to do for school. Students who attend a school with a uniform policy just have to buy fewer clothes which saves money and they can pay more attention to their schoolwork. Many students dislike uniforms because they hate the look but they do not know how much money their parents spend on their apparel.

Thought Provoking Question: If you were to switch places with your parents and the school year was about to begin, would you waste hundreds of dollars on clothes or waste half of that on a simple uniform and support the head of education?

  8. Uniform is a very controversial topic but in my opinion it needs to stay. If everyday the student around you are wearing the same outfits it makes u feel more unified and more as one like no one is better than another person. For example there might be some kids who have a higher income and can afford the newest jeans but there can also be that person who can't and they end up wearing something else attractive to the eye making him an easy target for bullying. Another reason why uniform is a good thing is because it's cheaper and usable for years while normal clothes have to be bought for many years to come and they are a lot more expensive. Question: why do you think even given the reasons why uniform is given do kids still resent wearing uniform?

  9. Although "no uniform" is an amazing opportunity, having a uniform is a thing that lots of people deal with, from elementary school to your future career! Wearing uniforms show us wear you come from and what you represent, like the highest role in office! Wearing uniform also provides equality, because everyone's wearing the same thing, and the same outfit colors. Meanwhile those who don't need to wear uniform probably struggle picking a decent popular outfit for every school day. Everyone knows in order to fit in to society these days you must have some fancy trend, the newest Jordans, the infinity scarfs, the Uggs, and the "True Religion" outfits etc... If you don't own/ have these you might get bullied, which is no fun considering its over cloths... While when wearing the same thing there is no need to bully over cloths hence everyone one else wear them too!

Question Time: What is better being harshly bullied or being the same as everybody else?

Uniform has been worn throughout generations in a variety of schools and I strongly believe that this policy shouldn't be restrained and put away, instead it should be accepted by other schools. This policy benefits the parents because they don't have to waste as much money on uniforms than buying stylish expensive clothing that suits the young person. The parents can even claim taxes on the uniform to the government up to 779 dollars. Not only does this help the parents but it helps the students too. It allows the students to have a better routine in the mourning and they pay better attention to their studies then the clothes they have put on. Wearing regular clothes may low a kids self esteem because of certain insecurities that the child might have. Uniforms provides equality and self respect throughout schools and have shown students to have discipline. Students don't have to worry about what to wear every time they wake up to go to school. Question: what's more important to have, a better education or creativity shown through your clothes, and why?

  11. Schools want their students to be disciplined and get good grades. Understandable. But what they don't want to do is work to get it. It seems to me that the schools rather use a 'bandage approach' to get what they want rather than face it head on. Instead of thinking that putting a kid in certain a packaging (clothes) will change them, schools should work with students hand in hand to get the best out of a student.
Question: Should schools work harder with their students to get the results they want, rather than take a shortcut by taking away their students freedom of expression through clothing?

  12. I don't see another blogspot to ask the new thought provoking question so

Question: Do you think that women have the right to gain an abortion? why do you feel this way?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Most people know that the baby inside is a living thing and alive then why do they deny it when it comes to whether they should abort it or not, or should I say when they decide whether or not they should kill it?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well, people in America can do anything they want, as long as it does not affect someone's pursuit of happiness, as said in the Constitution

Thought Provoking Question- Since you can do anything as long as it does not affect someone, why should abortion be a problem, since you are not affecting someone pursuit of happiness?

    Deshawn Magloire 8-422

    ReplyDelete
  15. Abortion should be a choice without obligation everyone woman should have the right to her own body. If the baby is a couple of weeks or months old it's understandable but if it's like 6-9 months that's where we head to the trail of murder.

Thought provoking question: if you were in the position of a pregnant woman who couldn't care for an oncoming baby, how would u feel if u were denied getting an abortion to Americans who claim this to be the land of the free?

    ReplyDelete
  16. If an eight year old girl with severe didiblilities gets brutally raped and finds herself pregnant, and with no money or home, should she have to have this child, who may end up killing her, and itself through the process of being born? Or should she be able to choose to end the pregnancy, saving her life so that she may have children when she is a relationship and feels secure and comfortable?

Question: Do you think that the government is doing a good job in allowing people to have guns without knowing their real intentions?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Guns are a root of death but what about the people who provide it.

Thought Provoking Question: Who is at fault for the number of deaths by gun? The People who own the gun or the people that provide citizens with the right to own them?

    Daniel Pena 8-422

    ReplyDelete
  27. Those who are anti gun control may believe that the second amendment is something that every American is entitled to, and that banning or putting restrictions on guns would be unconstitutional. Many people deem gun control laws as unlawful or unconstitutional. However I just wanted to reiterate on the fact that deaths are first off in my opinion inevitable, and if to some people guns are necessary (military purposes) then they should be granted the right to have one and this is where trust forms a major part of gun control arguments/debates.

Thought Provoking Question: Do you feel that trust takes up a major part in the debate on gun control? Why or why not.
