Project Based Homework Due 1.17.12

Hello All!

Sorry for the late post, however, the assignment is not going to make you go crazy. That is, however, if you forget your notebook at school. For the most part, many of you have already been keeping your journal updated during class.

1. On Tuesday, you must have 4 journal entries in your journaling notebook. Please note that it must be neat and dated. In addition, your entries must not be short or have drawings on each page. You must use variety and you must know yourself. Basically, if you know that you like to write then I should see only writing entries. For example, if you like to write poems...only poems, if you like to write essay-like entries...only essay-like entries or a combination of all of them. As you continue to write, and my criteria changes for your book, you should be able to see growth in your writing by the time the school year has come to an end.

Please note that by 2.13.12, you should have 30 entries. It should behoove you not to miss out on any opportunities, during ELA class only, to write in your journal. If you are not sure what to do, I would prefer that you email me.

As mentioned above, my criteria will change because your entries will not always be focused on what's on your mind, but on what unit we are working on in class. For example, we will soon be talking about sports programming in school. One of your journal entries would be a writing draft of what affects that would have on the school and students. I will let you know what this looks like when the time comes. As for now, continue to write and get used to having your pen etch in paper the thoughts of your great mind!

2. Continue to read independently at home so that you can build the vocabulary section of your notebook.

3. Author's Purpose and Context Clues Test on 1.13.12! I'm sure all of you will do WELL! : )
